01.
Design
The artist creates a concept — from sketch to technical drawing — defining the shape, color, and function of the piece.

02.
Melting
Raw materials like sand and minerals are heated in a furnace until they melt into liquid glass. The molten glass is then gathered on a pipe or rod to prepare for shaping.

03.
Forming
The molten glass is gathered on a blowpipe or punty rod and shaped by blowing, molding, or casting. Skilled artisans use hand tools to shape the glass while it’s still hot and malleable.

04.
Annealing
After shaping, the glass piece is placed in an annealing oven (lehr) where it cools slowly over several hours. This controlled cooling relieves internal stresses, preventing cracks and ensuring durability.

05.
Cutting
&
Finishing
Once cooled, the glass is cut, ground, polished, sandblasted, or engraved to refine the design and add final decorative touches
